ABOUT
CAS Overview
-
CAS completion is a requirement for graduation
-
CAS formally starts at the beginning of the DP and continues regularly, ideally on a weekly basis, for at least 18 months.
-
CAS experiences must balance Creativity, Activity and Service. An experience can involve one or more of these strands.
-
CAS experiences may be a single event or an extended series of events.
-
A minimum of one CAS Project and the CAS Project Plan must be completed. The CAS Project should last at least one month.
-
The CAS Stages are used as a guideline for planning your CAS Project.
-
You must maintain a CAS portfolio in ManageBac that includes: evidence of your CAS experiences, reflections, and proof of meeting the 7 learning outcomes.
-
CAS is not formally assessed but the CAS coordinator must approve your experiences before you start them and your advisor will approve the quality of your reflections and evidence.
-
Completion of CAS is based on achieving the 7 CAS learning outcomes. Evidence of completion of the learning outcomes will be recorded in your portfolio in ManageBac.
-
You will record 3 interviews with your CAS advisor and they will be uploaded to your portfolio in ManageBac.
-
CAS reflections are an essential part of CAS completion. The reflections provide evidence of completion of the learner outcomes and also show your ideas, skills, strengths, limitations and areas for further development.
